Ridgecroft Farm has Jacob Sheep for sale.   Ridgecroft Farm is located in the beautiful, scenic Hardwick Township, New Jersey, which is situated in the northeast corner of Warren County. This gentlemen's farm has been the home to many walks of life, including but not forgetting horses, chickens, dogs, cats, a few humans, and recently sheep. The farm was purchased in 1983 with the hopes and dreams on   raising horses and a family.   It was in 1998 that I decided a change in plans was needed and Jacobs took the place of the horses.  It was a better choice for the entire family to take a part in raising and showing this beautiful breed.  We purchased our first Jacob flock of 6 ewe lambs and a ram lamb. We then searched all over the United States to get bloodlines that we felt we needed to have in order to not only preserve the breed but to also breed superior animals for fleece and show stock. The various bloodlines at Ridgecroft Farm include Bide a wee, Swallow Lane, Sweetgrass, Brink-May, Green Water, 4 Horn, Kreutzer, and many, many more. The flock now has grown to about 25 ewes and 6 rams.
In 2008, while at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, Alex, my daughter, decided to add another breed to the Ridgecroft Farm flock and bought her first two California Verigated Mutant (CVM) Sheep from Roy and Myrtle Dow from Black Pines Farm in Colorado. Alex wanted to have something of her own and the CVM’s had been catching her eye for a few years with their “next to skin soft fleece”. Well, needless to say, two ewe lambs was just the beginning. The flock has now grown to fifteen with the first lambs of 2011 arriving already. The CVM sheep has been a great addition to Ridgecroft Farm and have paired up surprisingly well with the Jacob. They have turned out to have a great relationship and friendship within the two breeds.
If you are interested in any of the two breeds please give us a call or email. We have CVM and Jacob Sheep for sale from lambs to starter flocks.
We will also be attending the upcoming Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival – May 6th – 8th.
